For over fifty years Tessa Newcomb has been painting her own distinct vision of the world around her. Based mainly in Suffolk, she has captured the landscape and life of the county with great sensitivity, often focusing on the unusual and the quirky. Many of her paintings are full of humour, and revel in odd conjunctions, while others capture the timeless beauty of nature and the Suffolk landscape. Celebrating her 70th birthday this June, Tessa felt it was time to reflect on her career so far. As part of this process, she has selected a group of paintings which she feels represents the last fifty years of work. Tessa Newcomb – Fifty Years of Painting follows the development of Tessa’s unique vision from her first paintings in her late teens, to the present day.
