DIONE PAGE (1936-2021)

Dione Page grew up in Essex and studied at the Colchester School of Art from 1953-1956 with tuition from Carel Weight RA. She subsequently worked as a graphic artist and it was during this time she learnt to use the three tools of lumigraph pencil, gouache and wax pastel with which her artistic style is associated. In 1968 Dione married the picture framer Nelson Blowers.

Her pictures and still lifes were memories of holidays and local scenes around East Anglia, and she was greatly influenced by Mary Fedden, Edward Bawden and Henry Moore. Dione exhibited widely including the Royal Watercolour Society, the Royal Academy and the National Museum of Wales.
