Biography
Naomi Munuo studied fashion design at Central St Martins, which nurtured a love of colour, pattern, narrative and illustrating the female form. This eventually led to Naomi focusing on painting rather than fashion design. A love of sculpture also informs her work.
As Naomi has described :
‘My compositions aim to immerse viewers in worlds where the feminine subject is set in a rich narrative….I observe female strength and often feature women reading about female protagonists or artists…I explore the beauty of introspection, portraying scenes of quiet contemplation amidst lush fabrics, intricate patterns and vibrant colours. I hope my interior scenes serve as sanctuaries, allowing the free exploration of one’s thoughts.’
